Job summary

Smithers Ltd. in Harrogate is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the Ecotoxicology Department. The role is lab-based, with duties including housekeeping, culturing organisms, and maintaining equipment and supplies.

You will work as part of a team, with time split across the lab and related tasks. Training will be provided on degradation studies, sample analysis, data processing, and general lab duties.

Qualifications

• Relevant A Level or equivalent in a related scientific subject.
• Excellent IT skills and well-organised.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Hands-on approach and initiative.

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping and cleaning in the lab.
• Culturing and maintenance of organisms.
• Routine maintenance of equipment and laboratory supplies.
• Work as part of a team, mainly lab based.
