Job summary

P-Zero Research is seeking an economist to lead end-to-end research on AI takeoff forecasts. You will build models, estimate key parameters from public data and new experiments, and collaborate with academics, policy makers, and industry partners to advance our understanding of how frontier AI progresses.

You will publish high-impact papers and contribute to safe pacing of automated AI R&D, aligning with our mission and advancing methodological frontiers.

Qualifications

• PhD in economics or equivalent experience.
• Experience conducting empirical research and data analysis.
• Ability to translate ill-posed questions into tractable models.

Responsibilities

• Own a research agenda end to end for AI takeoff forecasting.
• Develop models of AI takeoff and estimate key parameters from data.
• Design and execute large-scale experiments; publish results.
