Job summary

The Actuary, a leading specialty insurer and reinsurer in the UK, seeks an experienced Capital Modelling Actuary to own and evolve its economic capital framework. This newly created leadership role sits within a high-profile capital function, offering significant exposure to senior stakeholders and direct influence on business strategy and capital allocation.

You will lead end-to-end model development, embed outputs into strategic planning and decision-making, and manage a small actuarial team,

Qualifications

• IFoA qualification or equivalent required.
• Extensive capital modelling experience in general insurance.
• Strong understanding of economic capital frameworks.
• Proven ability to embed model outputs into business decision-making.
• Experience leading and developing actuarial staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, maintenance and enhancement of economic capital models.
• Own parameterisation, calibration and reporting processes.

A leading specialty insurer and reinsurer is seeking an experienced Capital Modelling Actuary to take ownership of key economic capital models and play a pivotal role in the continued development of the firm's capital framework.

This is a newly created leadership opportunity sitting within a well-regarded capital function, offering significant exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to directly influence business strategy.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end ownership, enhancement and embedding of economic capital models across multiple insurance and reinsurance entities.Unlike many capital roles, this position is focused more on economic capital and business decision-making, rather than Lloyd's regulatory capital reporting.

A key focus will be ensuring model outputs are embedded across the business and actively used within strategic planning, underwriting, capital allocation and risk management decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Igloo experience highly advantageous
