Eames Consulting Group are assisting a global insurer with a high-profile actuarial opportunity in London. The role spans capital modelling and ERM, sitting in the risk function with exposure across investment, claims, underwriting and other risk areas.
You will manage the internal model operations, support validation, and contribute to risk analytics and governance across the business, including ORSA and stress testing. London market experience is advantageous.
This is a high-profile opportunity to join the European business of a global insurance group in a role that spans capital modelling and ERM. You'll sit within the risk function, which gives you access to every area of the organisation. Unusually for an actuarial role, you'll focus equally on both sides of the balance sheet, with exposure to investment, claims, underwriting and every other type of risk.
The capital team's insights are highly valued, so you'll have visibility with the most senior management in Europe and across the wider group. On the capital side, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the internal model, including quarterly data updates, calibration, model changes, output reporting and documentation. You'll support model validation, run the model change process and find new uses for the model in strategic decision making and risk monitoring. Within ERM, you'll develop the stress and scenario framework, support the emerging risk process and the ORSA, and lead risk analysis across underwriting, reserving, credit and market risk.
You'll also carry out technical deep-dive reviews, provide input to committees and help build an integrated risk dashboard that shows capital, profitability, liquidity and franchise value under different macroeconomic scenarios.
You'll need capital modelling experience, solid knowledge of capital and risk processes under Solvency II or an equivalent regime, and an understanding of both non-life and life products. Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel are essential, as is the ability to manage risks and issues across a diverse range of products and locations. London market experience, Igloo and knowledge of reinsurance, reserving or pricing would all be a real advantage. This is a great fit for a creative, self-motivated actuary who wants to shape how the model is used across the business.
