Job summary

Penguin Recruitment are seeking an Ecologist to join an established environmental consultancy in Preston. The role blends fieldwork with consultancy, including protected species surveys, habitat assessments, ecological appraisals, and report writing to support planning and development projects.

The salary range is £30,000 - £40,000 per year, and the successful candidate will have a relevant degree, UK driving licence and full right to work in the UK, with commuting to the Preston office expected.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Ecologist to join an established and growing environmental consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering practical ecological services across a diverse range of projects. The company provides professional ecological advice, surveys and assessments to support development and land management projects, offering an Ecologist the opportunity to work across varied and interesting schemes.

As an Ecologist, you will be involved in a mixture of fieldwork and consultancy-based responsibilities, including protected species surveys, habitat assessments, ecological appraisals, report writing and supporting clients throughout the planning process. This is an excellent opportunity for an Ecologist looking to develop their technical skills within a supportive and collaborative team.

Requirements:

• Relevant degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline
• Previous ecological consultancy experience is desirable
