Job summary

The Ecologist role with isepglobal supports an established local authority in Liverpool, focusing on biodiversity improvements and sustainable development across the borough. You will provide ecological advice on planning applications, assess ecological reports and surveys, and contribute to biodiversity initiatives while working with planning and conservation professionals.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in ecology or a related environmental discipline.
• Experience in ecological assessment, habitat management or planning-related ecology.
• Knowledge of UK wildlife legislation, biodiversity and planning policy.
• Strong report-writing, communication and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to local sites.
• Full right to work in the UK.
• Living in or within a commutable distance of Liverpool.

Responsibilities

• Provide ecological advice on planning applications and development proposals.
• Assess ecological reports, habitat surveys and protected species information.
• Support biodiversity net gain and nature recovery initiatives.
• Help monitor and protect local wildlife sites and habitats.
• Liaise with developers, consultants, residents and internal council teams.
• Ensure relevant wildlife legislation and planning policies are considered.
