Job summary

Charnwood Borough Council is seeking an Ecologist M528 to provide expert guidance on biodiversity and wildlife matters within the Natural and Built Environment Team. The role requires a relevant ecology degree and membership or progression toward IEEM/CIEEM, plus ecology-related experience and an understanding of planning legislation.

You will communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and work to deadlines.

Qualifications

• Must possess a relevant degree in ecology.
• Working towards full membership of IEEM or CIEEM would be desirable.
• Some ecology-related experience and knowledge of planning legislation are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and guidance to the public, developers and Council officers on biodiversity and wildlife matters.
• Be flexible across the Natural and Built Environment Team, covering design, conservation and ecology tasks.
