Job summary

The Ecology professional at Charnwood Borough Council provides expert guidance on biodiversity to the public, developers and council officers. The post sits within the Natural and Built Environment Team and covers ecology, design and conservation across the Borough.

You will help implement statutory ecology requirements and support growth in major development sites identified in the local plan. The role requires a relevant ecology degree and IEEM/CIEEM membership (or working towards it), plus

Qualifications

• A relevant degree in ecology.
• Membership of IEEM or CIEEM or working towards it.
• Ability to communicate clearly with a wide variety of people.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and guidance on biodiversity and wildlife matters to the public, developers and Council officers.
• Implement statutory ecology requirements across the Borough.
• Contribute professional biodiversity input to housing and employment growth in the local plan.
