Job summary

Yorkshire Water is seeking an Ecologist to join the Land & Property Finance team. You will embed ecological best practice and support Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) across capital projects, working with project managers to inform design decisions and deliver compliant outcomes.

The role requires a degree in ecology or related field, BNG experience, and a driving licence. Hybrid work with 1-2 days in the Bradford/Leeds area is available, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Degree in an environmental or ecological field.
• Experience managing ecological risk in construction or utilities.
• Experience delivering Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments.
• Protected species licensing and regulatory understanding.
• Proficient with GIS and environmental legislation.

Responsibilities

• Provide ecology and BNG advice across capital projects.
• Review ecological reports and ensure timely delivery.
• Embed ecology and BNG considerations from planning to construction.
• Develop processes and guidance for consistent delivery.
• Coordinate with project managers, regulators, and teams.
