Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking ecologists to support ecological assessment, habitat design, and nature recovery initiatives in a multi-disciplinary environment.

You will contribute to innovative mitigation approaches, collaborate with clients and stakeholders, and deliver clear, high-quality ecological deliverables aligned with current guidance and best practices.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain legislation, policy and methods.
• Report writing for ecological deliverables (PAs, EIA, Biodiversity Net Gain).
• Competence in GIS or geospatial tools is beneficial.
• Awareness of protected species survey methodologies and licensing.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking ecological assessment and habitat design for development and nature recovery projects.
• Supporting development of innovative ecological mitigation and compensation approaches.

• Undertaking ecological assessment and habitat design for a variety of development and nature recovery projects.

• Supporting to develop innovative and pragmatic approaches to ecological mitigation and compensation.

• Collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams and engaging with stakeholders / clients.

  A passion for ecology.

• A knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain legislation, policy and methods, the natural environment and wildlife legislation.

• Report writing skills for typical ecological reporting (Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments or Biodiversity Net Gain).

• Beneficial to be competent in using GIS and/or other geospatial applications.

• Awareness of methodology in undertaking protected species surveys, mitigation and licensing.

• Motivated to take ownership and pride in work.

• Membership of CIEEM is desirable.

• Full driving licence is desirable.
