Job summary

Keystone Environmental seeks a Contracts Manager to lead a Midlands delivery team within our Habitats sector. You’ll organise land management schemes, ensure quality and risk controls, and help grow our Midlands client base.

You’ll manage logistics, plan resources, quote and tender for local works, and work with senior Ecology and Arboriculture leads to deliver compliant schemes across habitat improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in ecological contracting or practical land management.
• Strong client, subcontractor and supplier communication.
• Proven ability to manage a team of operatives, vehicles and plant.
• Ability to identify risks and opportunities and respond.
• Delivers client requirements on time and within budget.
• Commercial acumen for profitable project delivery and growth.
• Balances priorities and remains effective under pressure.
• Experience quoting, tendering and delivering projects.
• Mentors junior staff and supports career development.
• Experience writing RAMS and method statements for jobs.
• CSCS card or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of a large landscaping and habitat contract, delivering to programme and budget.
• Coordinate internal teams and subcontracted plant and labour for productivity.
• Programme tracking and updates to clients and stakeholders.
• Financial oversight and cost control to maintain profitability.
• Client liaison, project administration and issue resolution.
• Conduct QA inspections and detailed reporting to standards.
• Prepare RAMS and ensure safe delivery per legislation.
• Line management and mentoring of junior staff.
• Quoting, tendering and bidding for new works.
• Develop client relationships to secure repeat business.
