Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Associate Director - Environmental and Ecological Compliance Lead to steer ECoW and EnvCoW services across the UK & Ireland. This role can be based in any UK office, including Cambridge, with a focus on building a high-quality partner network and delivering major infrastructure projects.

You will act as a technical authority, lead verifications, and shape the environmental compliance strategy while collaborating with contractors, developers, and project teams to meet planning

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Environmental and Ecological Clerk of Works services on major infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of construction-phase ecological and environmental compliance requirements.
• Experience coordinating with contractors and construction delivery teams.
• Knowledge of environmental and ecological secondary consents, permits and licensing.

Responsibilities

• Lead ECoW/EnvCoW services for UK&I projects.
• Verify ECoW deliverables with internal and supply-chain partners.
• Ensure resources, mobilization and delivery meet quality standards.
• Provide expert guidance on ecological risk management and permit implementation.
• Grow secondary consents service line within environmental compliance.
• Develop UK&I supply-chain strategy for ECoW/EnvCoW services.
• Support delivery of environmental commitments on major projects.
• Expand Clerk of Works services such as arboriculture and archaeology.
