Astec Industries Europe Limited is seeking an ECO Coordinator to evaluate and manage Engineering Change Orders, coordinating data and cross-functional input to ensure timely releases.

You will support BOM release, track ECO status, analyze impact on inventory, and drive continuous improvement of change-management processes across Engineering and Operations.

Qualifications

  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel for tracking, analysing, and reporting ECO data including pivot tables, formulas and conditional formatting.
  • Knowledge of Power BI for dashboards and real-time ECO insights.
  • Understanding of MRP logic.

Responsibilities

  • Review, coach, question and evaluate ECOs to align with business objectives.
  • Enhance ECO processes to improve efficiency, accuracy and responsiveness.
  • Coordinate and capture data to support decisions on timing and necessity of changes.
  • Support documentation required for Suppliers and BOM releases.
  • Release and close ECOs when actions are completed across all departments.
  • Act as liaison between Engineering and Operations to determine change impact and drive dispositions.
  • Ensure ECOs are fully actioned and closed across departments.
  • Assess impact on inventory prior to implementation and evaluate strategic/tactical changes.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering with process improvements, readiness reviews, and BOM/routing maintenance.

Job Description

The ECO Coordinator is responsible for evaluating, coordinating, and managing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to ensure alignment with business objectives, including reviewing and guiding changes, analysing inventory and implementation impact, liaising globally to support regional efforts, and ensuring timely release and closure of ECOs across all affected areas.

The role also supports continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline change management processes, improve manufacturing efficiency, and maintain product configuration control throughout the organisation.

About The Role

  • Review, coach, question, and evaluate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness. Proactively identify opportunities for process optimisation, implement best practices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate and capture relevant data to support informed business decisions on the timing and necessity of implementing changes.
  • Support with documentation required for Suppliers and Bill of Materials release.
  • Release and close ECOs once all business actions have been completed.
  • Act as a liaison between Engineering and Operations to determine change impact and drive disposition decisions.
  • Ensure ECOs are fully actioned and closed across all departments, maintaining alignment and accountability.
  • Conduct both strategic and tactical evaluations of proposed Engineering changes and their effects on inventory prior to implementation.
  • Support the Manufacturing Engineering team through process improvement activities, manufacturing readiness reviews, work instruction updates, BOM and routing maintenance, and new product or engineering change implementation.

To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:

  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking, analysing, and reporting ECO data, including the use of pivot tables, formulas, and conditional formatting to support performance monitoring.
  • Knowledge of Power BI for developing interactive dashboards and visual reports that provide real-time insights into ECO metrics, trends, and status updates for management and cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) logic.
