The European Social Survey European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ESS ERIC), based within the School, oversees the development and implementation of the European Social Survey (ESS) and related infrastructure projects.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Research Assistant with an interest in social surveys to join our international team managing the European Social Survey (ESS).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with leading survey methodologists in designing and delivering the ESS.
• Participate in questionnaire design, pre-testing, data collection monitoring, and other survey-related activities.
• Contribute to the transition of ESS to a self-completion data collection approach.
• Analyze ESS data and support administrative tasks to ensure project smooth operation.
• Potentially co-author research papers and presentations.

Person Specification

• Hold a good first degree and have an interest in survey methodology.
• Experience in questionnaire design, data collection, and survey monitoring.
• Ability to work independently and within a large, distributed team.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
