Job Title: Principal Medical Writer

We are seeking an experienced Principal Medical Writer to oversee the development of scientific content and the onsite delivery of an innovative, award-winning standalone event. This pivotal role involves leading the scientific programme development and managing a high-performing scientific services team of five.

What You’ll Do

1. Design and create a full range of medical education and communication programmes under your guidance.
2. Lead the delivery of high-quality scientific content and provide internal leadership to editorial teams across multiple accounts.
3. Engage in scientific discussions with clients and external experts, both face-to-face and via calls.
4. Develop scientific strategies to inform tactical planning internally and with clients.
5. Manage editorial resources effectively.
6. Identify and drive organic growth opportunities on accounts.
7. Serve as the scientific lead for proposals and pitches.
8. Line manage, mentor, coach, and train team members.

What You’ll Need

1. Extensive agency experience with a background as a Senior Medical Writer.
2. A proven track record in scientific and editorial leadership for large or complex accounts.
3. Strong leadership and communication skills, high emotional intelligence, adaptability, and effective issue management.
4. Experience in identifying organic growth and contributing scientific insights to proposals and pitches.
5. Ability to deliver events and experience with digital projects.
6. Excellent understanding of pharmaceutical regulations such as ABPI, GPP3, and ICMJE.
