Job Description:

Role Overview: The Quality Technologist (Maternity Leave cover) reports to the Technical & Quality Director and is responsible for maintaining up-to-date departmental paperwork, systems, and action plans. The role involves generating accurate specifications for internal and external use, systematically providing product safety information to customers, working with food service clients to ensure timely delivery of quality information, and acting as the industry contact for supplier assurance systems with Certificates of Analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and report on product evaluation panels and quality attribute sheets.
• Review specification review dates and conduct supplier performance reviews.
• Prepare and report quarterly quality data.
• Manage Certificates of Analysis for customer deliveries.
• Own and execute key points in the Technical Action Plan.
• Write and sign specifications for products and packaging.
• Approve new line forms and prepare product samples for chemistry and micro testing.
• Check and write procedures, depending on experience.
• Coordinate training for FUT and manage customer complaint logging and trending.
• Handle invoicing sign-offs and supplier BRC accreditation checks.
• Set up new suppliers and oversee project progression for Campden Feta and Halloumi.
• Report monthly KPIs and manage customer portals like Foodsconnected and Erudus.
• Develop internal SOP systems.

Personal Attributes: Can-do attitude, organized, detail-oriented, able to prioritize, basic IT skills, team player.

Skills and Knowledge: Experience in a quality function (food or other), ISO or Alcumus experience advantageous, familiarity with sales processing systems like Microsoft Dynamics or similar.
