Brief Description

To support a senior executive or a complex team, providing efficient and effective administrative and secretarial support, including maintaining relevant records and offering technical input interfaces.

About The Role (External)
Key Accountabilities:
  1. Undertake general office administration duties including mail control, diary coordination, personnel records management (including vulnerable assets like mobile phones), and making necessary returns. Arrange travel, hotels, vehicles, and manage Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the team.
  2. Organise meetings, produce, collate, and disseminate documentation, take minutes when required, and follow up on actions.
  3. Provide a consistent telephone presence on behalf of the team, delivering excellent customer service. Communicate messages as required.
  4. Maintain an efficient filing system, focusing on records of standing meetings, statutory records, and authorisations.
  5. Utilise financial and procurement systems, acting as Local Purchasing Agent when directed, to order stationery and office consumables.
  6. Report and monitor team problems like IT and office facilities issues.
  7. Undertake administrative tasks such as technical literature searches for the team.
  8. Perform duties in alignment with Network Rail's values.

  • Knowledge of railway geography and background
