Job Description

As Civil Foreman on this Water Pipeline Project, you will be experienced in delivering large diameter steel trunk mains and engaging with the Principal Contractor and other Subcontractors. The project involves the installation of a 900mm diameter steel pipeline within the Peterborough area. Our client needs a hands-on Civil Foreman who can plan, organize, coordinate, order materials, supervise personnel, monitor work quality, and perform basic administrative tasks. The role also requires ensuring all work is performed safely and to a high standard, following methods of working and procedures.

Responsibilities include:

1. Planning pipeline projects by studying drawings, ordering, and scheduling materials and equipment.
2. Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing safety standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
3. Conducting weekly safety meetings ('toolbox talks') and ensuring employees wear mandated protective equipment such as hard hats, hearing protection, safety-toe boots, and safety glasses.
4. Meeting construction deadlines while maintaining high standards of productivity, quality, and customer service.
5. Resolving operational problems and identifying work process improvements.

Requirements:

• Strong familiarity with heavy earthwork equipment operation and knowledge of OSHA requirements.
• Experience in all phases of pipe installation, with a working knowledge of engineering layout and delivering Water Pipeline Steel Trunk mains.
• At least 5 years of civil construction or utility experience.
• Preferably, experience as a Foreman overseeing multiple crews of 2-3 individuals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
