CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in sales and marketing or related professional area.
- OR
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; no work experience required.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Conducting Daily Marketing Activities that Achieve Department Goals
- Assists in region-wide coordination of rooms, food and beverage, spa, and golf promotions.
- Develops leisure marketing plan that addresses the distribution of rate offers, packages, and programs designed to build occupancy.
- Maintains, updates, and manages all websites.
- Coordinates offers and information for all publications and inserts regarding brand loyalty reward mailings.
- Develops brochure and property collateral materials.
- Participates in all property imaging work (signage).
- Uses and interprets all reporting necessary for sound marketing recommendations, including DMA source market reports, past guest lists, and tracking.
- Reviews and analyzes website and email campaign tracking for individual property sites and corporate campaigns.
- Ensures consistent marketing messaging across all advertising and collateral efforts.
- Manages marketing budget throughout the year.
- Provides regular ROI tracking and analysis of promotions and campaigns to inform future planning.
- Tracks ROI of all marketing initiatives, including online, direct mail, and print advertising.
- Monitors actual versus planned marketing budgets and recommends reallocation of funds as needed.
- Ensures consistency in the property's voice across all guest touchpoints and marketing communications, following corporate standards and individual property branding.
Using Knowledge of Market Trends and Target Customer Information to Maximize Revenue
- Evaluates new marketing opportunities for the property.
- Ensures property presence on all relevant internet sites.
- Collaborates with Convention Bureaus and Chambers of Tourism.
- Uses and interprets marketing reports for sound recommendations.
- Develops strategic marketing plans including group, leisure, and local efforts.
- Plans and supervises photo shoots aligned with property and brand image.
Building Successful Relationships that Generate Sales & Marketing Opportunities
- Identifies distribution channels for distress inventory to increase occupancy.
- Provides sales channels with marketing tools.
- Acts as liaison between corporate and properties for program rollout and opportunity maximization.
- Works with media buyers for advertising planning and execution.
- Assists in developing promotions, tracking, and presentations for owners.
- Manages vendor relationships, requests estimates, and approves materials.
Additional Marketing Responsibilities
- Maintains detailed records of marketing materials and vendor contracts.
- Ensures compliance with corporate marketing guidelines.
- Approves invoicing through MarrCom office.
