Lead Practitioner Science (Full-time)
An ambitious and forward-thinking secondary school in Thurrock is seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Lead Practitioner of Science from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent role offering the opportunity to lead on teaching and learning across the Science department and support wider school improvement.
Salary: Lead Practitioner Scale (L1 L5) approx. £47,417 to £52,171 per annum
TLR available in addition depending on responsibilities
About the role:
Leading on the development of high-quality teaching practice within the Science faculty.
Supporting staff CPD, mentoring colleagues, and modelling outstanding classroom practice.
Teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 available for experienced candidates).
Contributing to whole-school strategies for curriculum development and student outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have:
A degree in a Science subject and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
A proven track record of excellent classroom teaching and impact on student progress.
Experience in leading or coaching colleagues within a department or whole-school context.
A passion for Science education and a commitment to raising standards.
