Job description

We are looking for a Paralegal – Insured Linesto join our Liberty Blume team in Bradford (BD4) for a 12-month parental cover. This hybrid position requires at least two days per week in the office.

The primary focus of this role will be defending claims made against our clients.

You will manage your own portfolio of cases using a case management system and leverage the latest technology to assist with daily tasks. Additionally, you will handle various administrative functions, including setting up new cases, processing initial notification letters, and managing payment processing. You will also contribute to identifying opportunities for improvements, such as automation and AI integration.

All paralegal roles are supported by a Team Manager to help you develop the skills and expertise needed to advance your legal career.

You will be encouraged to gain a comprehensive understanding of our internal claims processes from inception to conclusion across various practice areas.

What will you be doing?

  • Run your own portfolio of pre-litigated claims.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to set up, convert, and progress new claims while keeping existing claims updated.
  • Perform initial administrative tasks on a variety of claims across different work areas within the department.
  • Utilise internal and external databases to conduct initial investigations and due diligence checks.
  • Ensure compliance with payment processes in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Support research projects by conducting legal research using specialized data sources.
  • Design and test various automation solutions in partnership with Legal Operations and the wider Shared Service Centre.
  • Draft and communicate with precision and professionalism to maintain the Legal Operations Department's professional image.

  • Demonstrates strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise and handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in analysing and communicating data
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Excel

Desirable:

  • Law degree
  • Previous claims handling experience is desirable
