Are you ready to make a difference in workplace safety? ALDI is on the lookout for a passionate and dedicated Health and Safety Specialist to join our dynamic team in Darlington!

At ALDI, we believe that a safe working environment is key to our success. As a Health and Safety Specialist, you will play a crucial role in shaping our health and safety strategy across our Stores and Regional Distribution Centres (RDCs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Regional Health & Safety Manager, act as a 'competent person', ensuring compliance with health & safety, fire safety, food safety, and trading law.
  • Engage with various teams to promote a positive safety culture and ensure all safety requirements are met.
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to keep our workplaces safe and compliant
  • Investigate reportable work-related incidents and advise on accident prevention measures.
  • Support working groups in the development of risk assessments, policies and procedures, monitoring and supervision and training initiatives.

About You

  • You must hold a NEBOSH Certificate
  • In-depth knowledge of legislation and industry standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present to groups.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ideally you will hold a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field, or working towards, IOSH Membership, CIEH Membership, Fire safety qualification , Lead auditor qualification

  • Salary starting £36,750 to £53,200
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with the opportunity of 1 day a week remote working
