As a Product Manager - Readers, this role will focus on end-to-end management of readers and reader-devices within the HID Physical Access Control Solution (PACS) reader portfolio.

The role is an inter-disciplinary position that bridges product development, operations, commercial, and support teams to deliver best-in-class products and customer experience.

To succeed, candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in product management, especially with electro-mechanical and embedded firmware systems, ideally within the RFID and physical access control industry.

You will lead initiatives to maintain, support, and ensure the success of assigned reader products, collaborating with global teams including Business/Epic owners, Product Owners, Engineers, and Operations professionals.

The PACS business is a significant portfolio within HID Global, offering products like smart cards, mobile access, identification solutions, software, services, and controllers for physical access control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and drive activities for reader and reader-devices, delivering solutions with superior customer experience.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement based on customer needs, market trends, and competitive analysis.
• Align portfolio initiatives with broader strategic visions and roadmaps.
• Manage changes to product vision and roadmap within strategic themes.
• Define and deliver clear product requirements addressing market and internal problems.
• Develop metrics to evaluate product effectiveness within budgets and guardrails.
• Collaborate using Agile SAFe methodologies to align marketing, sales, and product teams for revenue growth.
• Develop and execute comprehensive Go-to-Market strategies for product lifecycle management.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Ability to make strategic trade-offs and manage risks effectively.
• Market-focused mindset with proactive approach.
• Strong leadership in complex projects and change management.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience managing embedded hardware/firmware products and IoT devices.
• Knowledge of RFID and physical security industry is a plus.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred but not required.
• Minimum 5 years in product management or similar roles.
• Experience with product development from concept to launch.
• Familiarity with CRM and product management tools like Jira, TestRail, Miro, etc.
• Training in SAFe methodologies is advantageous.
