As a Product Manager - Legacy Readers, this role will focus on end-to-end management of the legacy readers within the HID Physical Access Control Solution (PACS) reader portfolio.

The role is an interdisciplinary position that bridges product development, operational, and support teams to provide best-in-class products and customer experience.

To be successful, candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in product management, emphasizing electro-mechanical and embedded firmware systems within the RFID and physical access control industry.

You will lead initiatives to maintain, support, and ensure the success of the legacy portfolio of reader products, collaborating with a global team including Business/Epic owners, Product Owners, Engineers, and Operations professionals.

As our Product Manager for Legacy Readers, you will support HID’s success by:

  1. Leading activities for the legacy reader portfolio to deliver solutions with superior customer experience.
  2. Defining and delivering clear product requirements that address market and internal problems.
  3. Aligning portfolio initiatives with the product roadmap, strategic vision, and business priorities.
  4. Managing changes to the product vision based on broader strategic themes.
  5. Identifying opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement.
  6. Driving outcomes with results-oriented metrics, managing budgets and guardrails.
  7. Collaborating with cross-functional teams using Agile SAFe methodologies to drive revenue and profitability.
  8. Developing and executing comprehensive go-to-market strategies for product lifecycle management.

Qualifications

  • Experience from concept to product launch in product development.
  • Experience across multiple customer types, technologies, standards, and regulations.
  • Ability to make strategic trade-offs and manage risks.
  • Market-focused mindset with anticipation of business changes.
  • Strong strategic thinking and project management skills.
  • Proactive, hands-on, self-motivated, with strong documentation skills.
  • Leadership experience with cross-functional teams including sales, quality, finance, and operations.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and drive change management.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools like Salesforce, Oracle EBS, Oracle PLM.
  • Experience with product management tools such as Jira, TestRail, and Miro is beneficial.

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years in product management or similar roles.
  • Strong knowledge of contactless RFID readers, embedded hardware, and firmware.
  • Knowledge of physical access control and physical security industry.
  • Experience with Agile development and lean practices.
  • Training in SAFe methodologies preferred.
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements, RFIs/RFPs, standards.
  • Proven excellence in customer interaction and requirement management.

Work Requirements

  • Adherence to HID policies on quality, security, safety, and environmental standards.
  • International travel and fieldwork, with valid passport/visa.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the country of employment.
  • No relocation package offered.
