An innovative firm is seeking a Design Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary Water team, delivering impactful projects for major clients in the UK water industry. This role offers the opportunity to shape how water is obtained and distributed, using sustainable methods. With a focus on professional development and a hybrid working model, this position is ideal for those passionate about the water and environment sector. Join a community dedicated to creating sustainable solutions and enhancing local communities through effective design and project management.
As we move into AMP 8 and continue with our growth plans across the UK & Ireland, we're interested in hearing expressions of interest from Design Managers (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering) seeking their next career opportunity in the coming weeks and months.
Multiple major framework wins have reinforced our pipeline of work and provide our teams with the opportunity to get involved with projects throughout feasibility, detailed design, and build phases. In the South, our recent appointments include Welsh Water's Engineering Consultancy Framework, Southern Water's Professional Services Framework, and South West Water's Engineering Consultancy Framework.
As a Design Manager, you will lead our strong multi-disciplinary Water team, delivering diverse and challenging projects for a range of Water clients. This involves working closely with Project Managers to manage the technical team and taking responsibility for the delivery, efficiency, and quality of all technical output.
You will have the opportunity to work with some of the UK water industry’s largest clients, delivering designs that will shape how we obtain, clean, and distribute water for local communities, using innovative and sustainable methods.
We prioritize your wellbeing by offering a hybrid working model, allowing you to choose from many offices around the UK & Ireland or work from home. Additionally, we support your professional development by funding extra qualifications or accreditations to advance your career.
We are interested in candidates who are degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant subject with design management experience, ideally within the water industry.
You should have a passion for the water and environment sector and experience in successful project delivery, working collaboratively to develop innovative solutions. Membership in a relevant engineering institution (e.g., ICE) and experience in construction, heavy civils, or other regulatory sectors would be beneficial but are not essential.
