Role: Data Center Engineer

We are recruiting Engineers to work within a team responsible for cabling infrastructure and network hardware support at client sites. The role includes:

1. Performing all types of patching, break-fix, circuit provisioning, and recovery.
2. Disconnecting/reconnecting desktop and networking equipment.
3. Rack and stacking Data Centre Hardware (e.g., Servers, Network, and Storage).
4. Provisioning connectivity to Data Centre Hardware.
5. Being available for out-of-hours work, including weekends and evenings, as part of an on-call rota.
6. Auditing and documenting existing cabling installations.
7. Auditing and documenting desktop configurations, including patching and power, for current and future user locations.
8. Utilizing Cable Management Software for patching planning.
9. Carrying out Data Wiping activities using software tools.
10. Performing all types of patching/jumpering, including voice & data, copper & fibre.
11. Testing and fault-finding on Copper and Fibre Cabling Infrastructure using modern testers.
12. Terminating Copper Voice and Data cables as per the Onnec cabling systems portfolio.
13. Conducting surveys and updating drawings and schedules.
14. Installing and testing analogue, digital, and VOIP telephone handsets, providing headset support as needed.
15. Building, Rack and Stacking Network and Server hardware in Data Centre Halls and ensuring connectivity.
16. Performing Network Hardware break-fix activities such as replacing power supplies, modules, and fans.
17. Experience working in Voice and Data Cabling environments.
18. Thorough understanding of modern computer network infrastructure.
19. Practical experience with fibre and copper voice and data cabling, including terminating, testing, and test parameters.
20. Knowledge of Rack and Stack of Server Hardware and Systems.
21. Familiarity with ServiceNow and other Process and Asset Management Tools.
22. Knowledge of Server Patching.
23. Ability to use all types of modern Handheld Cable Standards Testers.
