ABOUT THE ROLE

Your role as Kitchen Assistant involves supporting the catering functions, including food preparation and maintaining a clean environment to ensure the safe production of beverages and meals, delivering high-quality and comprehensive service to residents.

Additional responsibilities will include:

1. Understanding the principles of safe food handling to uphold the highest standards of hygiene in all food preparations.
2. Contributing fully to team work, responding positively to colleagues, and promptly acting on all reasonable work instructions.
3. Advising on the supply and quality of items used for tasks, ensuring timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.
4. Respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident when acting towards residents and their visitors.

ABOUT YOU

Our ideal candidate must:

1. Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene.
2. Have knowledge of Health and Safety practices, including Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments.
3. Be an efficient worker capable of sustained physical effort and able to respond to a demanding workload.
4. Show initiative and possess a positive, flexible attitude towards teamwork.
5. Exhibit a caring and understanding attitude towards residents.
