About the Role

Commis Chef / Kitchen Assistant at United Airlines Lounge Terminal 2

Roles will be permanent once vetting is completed, an airside pass is obtained for the airport, and after the probation period.

Role Responsibilities
  • Understand the correct preparation, cooking, presentation, and service of food as per kitchen management standards.
  • Respond to all training provided and attend training sessions.
  • Take responsibility for your career development and continuous self-improvement.
  • Maintain excellent personal hygiene and presentation standards.
  • Wear a clean uniform at all times.
  • Be punctual for all scheduled shifts.
  • Ensure the kitchen and pass presentation standards are consistently high.
  • Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment to maximize efficiency and longevity.
  • Order and accept deliveries according to Sodexo standards, ensuring stock meets company and legal standards.
  • Assist in accurate record keeping, security, and safe storage of deliveries.
  • Implement fire regulations and procedures, assisting in evacuations if necessary.
  • Monitor equipment and report maintenance issues to the manager.
  • Assist with ordering, storage, and careful use of kitchen supplies.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment to minimize maintenance costs.
  • Follow proper product storage, stock rotation, food quality, and portion control as directed by management.
Health & Safety
  • Attend health, safety, and food safety training courses as required.
  • Adhere to policies related to deliveries, storage, and food safety, including temperature controls.
  • Comply with all legal and company procedures regarding hygiene, health, safety, and personal hygiene.
  • Maintain cleanliness under your control according to company and COSHH standards.
  • Follow cleaning schedules rigorously.
  • Report incidents such as accidents, fire, theft, damage, or unfit food immediately to management.
  • Report health and safety issues promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety legislation.

Package Details
  • 4 days on, 2 days off; lounge hours are 4 am to 10 pm with shifts varying according to business needs, including early and afternoon starts.
