Job summary

Discover Recruitment is partnering with a leading international manufacturing business to appoint an Engineering Manager for Cumbria. You will lead the EC&I function, driving reliability, performance and continuous improvement of electrical and control systems while developing the EC&I team.

You will bring a strong EC&I/automation background, track record in leading engineering teams, and experience managing PLCs, instrumentation and VSDs in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Strong electrical/EC&I/control or automation background.
• Proven track record leading engineering teams.
• Experience with PLCs, control systems, instrumentation, and industrial electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the EC&I engineering team.
• Ensure reliability and performance of electrical, control and instrumentation assets.
• Develop predictive maintenance strategies to improve plant reliability.
• Provide technical leadership across electrical, PLC, automation, instrumentation and control systems.
• Lead engineering improvements, modifications and capital projects.
• Collaborate with Production and Maintenance to prioritise activities.
• Manage contractors and suppliers as required.
• Support budgets, resource planning and capex.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, standards and procedures.
• Foster safety, continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
