Job summary

Discover Recruitment is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Electrical, Control & Instrumentation function at a Cumbria site. You will drive reliability, continuous improvement and capital projects while developing the EC&I team and collaborating with Production and Maintenance.

The role requires substantial EC&I expertise, leadership experience in manufacturing, and a track record of improving plant performance. A competitive package including bonus and benefits is on offer.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Strong electrical/EC&I background with controls or automation.
• Experience leading engineering teams.
• Experience with PLCs, control systems, instrumentation, VSDs, and industrial electrical systems.
• Track record of improving plant reliability and performance.
• Experience delivering engineering projects and managing contractors.
• A relevant engineering qualification such as HNC/HND or Degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the EC&I engineering team.
• Ensure reliability and performance of electrical, control and instrumentation assets.
• Develop preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to improve plant reliability and reduce downtime.
• Provide technical leadership across electrical, PLC, automation, instrumentation and control systems.
• Lead engineering improvement, modification and capital projects.
• Collaborate with Production and Maintenance to prioritise activities.
• Manage contractors and specialist suppliers.
• Support engineering budgets, resource planning and capital expenditure.
• Ensure activities comply with legislation, standards and procedures.
• Drive safety, continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
