Job summary

A leading company in nuclear energy is looking for an experienced electrical engineer to develop and check EC&I drawings and ensure compliance with regulations. Candidates should have at least 5 years of industry experience, preferably in nuclear or regulated sectors. A Bachelor's degree is preferred and candidates must be legally eligible to work in the UK. You will report to the Manager, Electrical, Control, and I&C Integration and be located at Westlakes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development of EC&I drawings: Block Cable Diagrams, Single Line Diagrams etc.
  • Production of cable calculations by hand or in Amtech and lighting calculations in Dialux/Relux.
  • Checking of others work ensuring that design deliverables are produced to a high standard and compliant with all relevant internal and client procedures.
  • Production of technical documents such as Basis of Design, Testing Strategies/Schedules, Method Statements etc.
  • Take ownership of design deliverables throughout the design, construction, installation, commissioning, operations and decommissioning phases of a project and ensure that the Design Intent is maintained.
  • Produce and check CDM Risk Registers
  • Produce and check documentation required for Technical Files of new products / plant and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5+ years' experience in industry - of which at least 2 years at Engineer level - nuclear industry or other highly regulated sector preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
  • Chartered Member of the IET (preferred)
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the UK
  • Detailed knowledge of standards, regulations, codes and directives and how they should be applied
  • Proven knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and techniques of EC&I design
  • Strong knowledge in the production of Technical Files for new products / plant and equipment
