Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in the UK is seeking an EC&I Engineer based at Westlakes to lead EC&I design deliverables on nuclear projects, reporting to the Manager, Electrical, Control, and I&C Integration.

You will develop EC&I drawings, perform cable calculations, check colleagues' work, prepare Basis of Design and testing strategies, and maintain CDM risk registers throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' industry experience, with at least 2 years at Engineer level, nuclear or regulated sector preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
• Chartered Member of the IET preferred.
• Legally eligible to work in the UK.
• Detailed knowledge of standards, regulations and directives and their application.
• Proven knowledge of EC&I design theories and practices.
• Strong knowledge in producing Technical Files for new products/plant/equipment.

Responsibilities

• Development of EC&I drawings: Block Cable Diagrams, Single Line Diagrams, etc.
• Produce cable calculations by hand or in Amtech and lighting calcs in Dialux/Relux.
• Check others' work to ensure design deliverables meet client procedures.
• Produce Basis of Design, Testing Strategies/Schedules, Method Statements, etc.
• Own design deliverables through design, construction, installation, commissioning, operations and decommissioning.
• Produce and check CDM Risk Registers.
• Produce and check documentation for Technical Files of new products/equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the development of EC&I drawings: Block Cable Diagrams, Single Line Diagrams etc.
• Production of cable calculations by hand or in Amtech and lighting calculations in Dialux/Relux.
• Checking of others work ensuring that design deliverables are produced to a high standard and compliant with all relevant internal and client procedures.
• Production of technical documents such as Basis of Design, Testing Strategies/Schedules, Method Statements etc.
• Take ownership of design deliverables throughout the design, construction, installation, commissioning, operations and decommissioning phases of a project and ensure that the Design Intent is maintained.
• Produce and check CDM Risk Registers
• Produce and check documentation required for Technical Files of new products / plant and equipment.

Qualifications

• At least 5+ years' experience in industry - of which at least 2 years at Engineer level - nuclear industry or other highly regulated sector preferred
• Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
• Chartered Member of the IET (preferred)
• Must be legally eligible to work in the UK
• Detailed knowledge of standards, regulations, codes and directives and how they should be applied
• Proven knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and techniques of EC&I design
• Strong knowledge in the production of Technical Files for new products / plant and equipment
