Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is seeking an experienced EC&I professional to lead the development of electrical, control and instrumentation drawings and associated calculations. You will ensure design deliverables meet strict regulatory and client procedures across the project lifecycle.

The role requires 5+ years in a regulated industry, a bachelor's degree (chartered status preferred), and strong knowledge of EC&I design practices, with hybrid working arrangements at Westlakes in the UK.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years' experience in industry, with at least 2 years at Engineer level, nuclear or similarly regulated sector preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or higher; Chartered status with IET preferred.
• Detailed knowledge of EC&I design standards, regulations and directives and their application.
• Proven ability to produce and manage Technical Files for new products/plants/equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop EC&I drawings: block cable diagrams, single line diagrams, etc.
• Produce cable calculations by hand or using Amtech; perform lighting calculations in Dialux/Relux.
• Review others' work to ensure high-quality design deliverables aligned with procedures.
• Create technical documents such as Basis of Design, Testing Strategies/Schedules, Method Statements.
• Own design deliverables through all project phases from design to decommissioning.
• Produce and review CDM risk registers and other project documentation.

You will report to the Manager, Electrical, Control, and I&C Integration and be located at Westlakes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the development of EC&I drawings: Block Cable Diagrams, Single Line Diagrams etc.
• Production of cable calculations by hand or in Amtech and lighting calculations in Dialux/Relux.
• Checking of others work ensuring that design deliverables are produced to a high standard and compliant with all relevant internal and client procedures.
• Production of technical documents such as Basis of Design, Testing Strategies/Schedules, Method Statements etc.
• Take ownership of design deliverables throughout the design, construction, installation, commissioning, operations and decommissioning phases of a project and ensure that the Design Intent is maintained.
• Produce and check CDM Risk Registers
• Produce and check documentation required for Technical Files of new products / plant and equipment.

Qualifications:

• At least 5+ years' experience in industry - of which at least 2 years at Engineer level - nuclear industry or other highly regulated sector preferred
• Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
• Chartered Member of the IET (preferred)
• Must be legally eligible to work in the UK
• Detailed knowledge of standards, regulations, codes and directives and how they should be applied
• Proven knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and techniques of EC&I design
• Strong knowledge in the production of Technical Files for new products / plant and equipment
