Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd seeks an experienced EC&I Engineer to join the electrical team in a leading manufacturing environment. The role covers safe operation of electrical, control & instrumentation systems, with involvement in testing, commissioning and continuous improvement projects.

Key duties include fault finding on motors, PLCs (Siemens), DCS, HMIs, and SCADA, plus reading schematics and P&ID diagrams. A time-served apprenticeship and ideally an HNC Electrical Engineering are preferred.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship completed.
• Ideally HNC / HNC Electrical Engineering.
• Electrical fault finding on motors, controls, PLCs, DCS, HMIs.
• Understanding of instrumentation: sensors, transmitters, pressure, temperature & flow.
• Safe electrical isolation (LOTO).
• Electrical testing & inspection experience.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read schematics, loop diagrams, P&ID diagrams.
• Knowledge of VSDs and soft starters.
• Flexibility for call-out rota and extra hours.

Responsibilities

• Ensure electrical, control & instrumentation systems are safe and efficient.
• Electrical safety isolation, LOTO, testing & commissioning.
• Work on industrial manufacturing machinery and automated warehouse systems.
• Fault finding on electrical systems, motors, controls, PLCs, DCS, HMIs, SCADA, instrumentation & controls.
• Lead continuous improvement projects & preventive/predictive maintenance.

As an EC&I Engineer your role & responsibilities will be:

• Make sure all electrical, control & instrumentation systems are working safely & efficiently
• Electrical safety isolation, LOTO, testing & commissioning
• Working on industrial manufacturing machinery & automated warehouse systems
• Fault finding on electrical systems, motors, control valves, PLC's, HMi's, DCS systems, SCADA systems, instrumentation & controls
• Continuous improvement projects & PPM's

Knowledge, skills & experience required for an EC&I Engineer:

• Completed a time-served advanced modern apprenticeship
• Ideally HNC / HNC Electrical Engineering
• Electrical fault finding skills - motors, controls, PLC's (Siemens), DCS systems, HMi's
• Understanding of instrumentation - sensors, transmitters, pressure, temperature & flow
• Confident and able in safe electrical isolation (LOTO)
• Electrical testing & inspection experience
• Must have worked in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Able to read electrical schematics, loop diagrams, P&ID diagrams
• Knowledge of variable speed drives, soft starters
• Must be flexible to do a call-out-rota, do extra hours / support when needed
