Job summary
Ec&I Partners Limited is seeking an EC&I Design Engineer (Electrical bias) based in Rochdale with hybrid working options. You'll deliver electrical and instrumentation designs for hazardous environments, supporting gas and energy sector projects and hydrogen initiatives.
The role offers a competitive salary and career development. The position requires 18th Edition and at least 3 years' EC&I design experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD or EPLAN.
Qualifications
- 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification is required.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in EC&I or electrical design.
- Experience designing for hazardous areas (COMPEX 8-12 preferred).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN or similar electrical design software.
- Strong analytical, communication and technical documentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Produce EC&I designs for LV, ELV and hazardous area installations.
- Prepare electrical schematics, drawings and design documentation.
- Perform electrical design calculations using AMTECH and Dialux.
- Interpret client specifications and applicable standards.
- Attend occasional local site surveys and project kick-off meetings.
- Support HAZOP studies and design reviews.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Mentor junior engineers where appropriate (senior candidates).
