Job summary

Oasis Academy Mayfield is seeking a dedicated Family Liaison Officer to support attendance and wellbeing for students and families. You will work with EBSA cases, engage with parents, and coordinate with safeguarding, SEND and inclusion teams to develop reintegration plans.

You will build partnerships with families and external services, delivering targeted interventions and mentoring to improve attendance and educational outcomes.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or equivalent.
• Pastoral/family support, education, youth or community experience.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and attendance processes.
• Ability to communicate with parents/carers and external agencies.
• Strong organisation and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Good IT skills and the ability to maintain records.
• Understanding of SEND and attendance barriers.
• Empathy, resilience and discretion in sensitive situations.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support students experiencing EBSA through mentoring, attendance interventions and reintegration planning.
• Build strong partnerships between the academy, families and external support services.
• Deliver targeted interventions, breakfast clubs and small-group support programmes.
• Support parents and carers to engage positively with their child's education.
• Signpost and advocate for families requiring additional support.
• Work collaboratively with attendance, safeguarding, SEND and inclusion teams.
• Monitor student progress and contribute to attendance improvement strategies.
• Support the induction of new students and families into the academy community.
