Senior Research Nurse (Specialities Team)

Research & Development

Band 7 @ 0.8 WTE (Initially 2 years then for review)

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Research Nurse to lead some of our established research nurse teams in NHS Grampian. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 6 Clinical Research Nurse keen to apply their clinical expertise and develop their leadership skills.

The post holder will lead the day to day co-ordination of a dedicated and motivated clinical research team of research nurses. The research portfolio in NHS Grampian has grown over recent years and this role will be pivotal in supporting this expanding portfolio and there are ever pressing demands to recruit participants to studies in a timely manner

The post will involve working closely with the Lead Research Nurse in R&D to ensure studies in the research portfolio are covered and to improve patient recruitment into trials. They will ensure adherence to research legislation, policy and guidelines and facilitate overall improvements in the care of research participants and quality of research data collected.

The post holder will provide support to the Lead Research Nurse, undertaking line management of the team of CRNs and supervising research nurse activity.

The successful candidate will be a registered nurse with a degree or equivalent experience in clinical research. An ability to lead and motivate a team, to work well with multidisciplinary research teams, a high level of organisation and interpersonal skills are essential requirements for this post.
