MTrec’s Client Opportunity: Our client is an established and successful business based in Sunderland. They are looking for an Import / Export Coordinator to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. If you meet the person specification for the role, please apply below.

The role you will be doing:
  • Coordinate carrier collections for all modes of transport, including Road, Sea, and Air, ensuring timely and efficient dispatch.
  • Investigate late, delayed, lost, and damaged deliveries, working closely with customer service to provide resolutions that satisfy customers.
  • Facilitate claims with couriers and freight forwarders.
  • Ensure proof of export is obtained, properly documented, and filed in compliance with shipping regulations.
  • Provide accurate and timely freight quotations.
  • Prepare shipping documentation and stay updated with country-specific requirements.
  • Handle inbound telephone queries from couriers and customers professionally and efficiently.
  • Provide clearance instructions for imports and coordinate with warehouses to schedule deliveries.
  • Maintain and update the Shipping database, ensuring all records are accurate and current.
About You:
  • Experience working within a shipping or logistics role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Professional telephone manner with excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong team player with the ability to meet targets and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster strong working relationships.
  • Ability to organize workloads effectively to meet department KPIs.
  • Proactive and enthusiastic, with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • GCSEs grade A-C / 9-4 in Maths and English.
