Job Description

Cost Engineers support major projects and organizations by providing accurate and timely project information related to performance against baselines. They drive cost performance reporting, including all Earned Value Management metrics associated with project commitments and expenditures.

Duties

1. Develop project cost control data structures to accurately track and control actual costs.
2. Establish and set the project control budget aligned with agreed baselines.
3. Track actual costs for internal and external expenditures against control structures.
4. Monitor and control project accruals and commitments within budget constraints.
5. Build project forecasts, including estimated work to complete (ETC) and estimate at complete (EAC).
6. Report all project information accurately and promptly, including Earned Value Management.
7. Track project contingency and exposure related to risk events and remaining risks.
8. Monitor project change control to ensure alignment with baselines and control data structures.
9. Identify key project trends to inform future change controls.

Qualifications

Typically, a qualified graduate in a relevant discipline with five to ten years of experience in project controls services for major projects or programs.
