About Our Client
My client is a well established university who are looking for an experienced Project Manager. The client is looking to implement a new Student Record System. The role will be a 6 months contract with the possibility of extension.
Job Description
Your New Role:
- You will formally manage the client’s capabilities and treat these as projects.
- Set up key meetings e.g., stand-ups, retrospectives, demos, and lead these sessions.
- Work closely with the supplier to ensure the kickoff, alignment sessions, and other workshops run smoothly.
- Work closely with SMEs and other core programme team members to ensure that deliverables are on time, within budget, and of high quality.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts to ensure the 'adopt not adapt' principle is followed, and requirements are mapped only where needed, e.g., in compliance areas.
- Coordinate with the existing Project Manager and Programme Manager to align with the overall implementation plan, set up work packages in JIRA, and communicate issues related to key deliverables.
- Actively resolve issues at ground level with key stakeholders.
- Present updates and reports at the monthly programme board and participate in stakeholder briefings to discuss and communicate the programme context & answer stakeholder questions.

The Successful Applicant
What you need to be successful:
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, and Prince2 qualifications
- Higher Education experience
- Experience in long-term, complex, fast-paced transformation programmes
- Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously
- Proactive risk and issue mitigation skills
- Empathetic attitude towards SMEs and stakeholders
- Knowledge of change management and cultural change impacts
- Experience working with subject matter experts in cross-functional teams
- Experience in a maturing change environment
- Experience working in fast-paced environments with technical suppliers on large-scale projects
Should haves:
- Knowledge of core student records systems like SITS and Banner
- Technical implementation experience with systems like Agresso
