Job Details

Title: Stress Engineer

Workplace: Hybrid

Salary: £40k - £70k per annum, depending on experience and role level

Role Introduction

Our leading Aerospace client is hiring experienced Stress Engineers (Senior to Lead) in Gloucester. You will perform Static, Fatigue, and FEA analysis to develop efficient aircraft landing gear systems, ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards.

Key Tasks

• Conduct static stress and fatigue analysis using FEA tools like ABAQUS
• Collaborate with Chief Engineers, Programmes, Test Engineering, and Manufacturing teams
• Participate in audits and product validation activities
• Liaise with external stakeholders including suppliers and regulators
• Review designs and repairs, suggest improvements, ensure compliance

Essential Experience & Skills

• Strong understanding of aerospace design and manufacturing processes
• Expertise in static analysis, FEA, and fatigue analysis of aircraft structures
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings
• Experience with aerospace materials and regulatory standards
• Familiarity with IPT working environments
• Excellent communication skills, organized, proactive, solution-oriented
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC/HND in engineering; BSc/MSc preferred
• Experience with landing gear systems advantageous
• Exposure to various engineering functions is a plus
