About the Role

At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as an Environmental Laboratory Analyst at our Greeson Court, Westlakes Science Park site.

The role

As an Environmental Laboratory Analyst, you will deliver efficient analytical services to clients, ensuring safety, quality, and environmental standards. Your daily tasks include conducting chemistry analyses on samples supporting client sites like Sellafield, aiding in obtaining site license permits.

  • Support the delivery of analytical programs ensuring results meet time and quality standards.
  • Maintain compliance with laboratory quality management systems.
  • Follow safety procedures and work practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to provide consistent service.
  • Report issues to improve operational capability.
  • Assist in validating new and existing techniques and equipment.

Please note: The successful candidate must pass a medical questionnaire/examination as a condition of employment.

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, based at Westlakes Science Park, Whitehaven.

Essential Experience
  • Experience in analytical chemistry (desirable).
  • Awareness of conventional and radiological safety.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques (advantageous).
  • Awareness of ISO17025 standards.
  • IT literacy.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills.
Qualifications
  • Science A Level (grades A-C) or equivalent, or significant practical laboratory experience.

Security Clearance
