Job description

Job Title: Transport Shift Manager

Location: Bedford

Job Type: Permanent – Full Time

Hours: 40 hours per week, working 8 hours per day, primarily between 5am and 7pm, Monday to Friday. Flexibility required outside these hours to meet business needs.

Role Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance of all vehicles and drivers.
• Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring on-time and in-full deliveries.
• Support distribution teams to maintain smooth operations.
• Meet site objectives while prioritizing health and safety.
• Oversee daily vehicle and crew operations, including morning dispatch and return.
• Act as the main contact for real-time delivery issues and coordinate with customer services.

Experience and Key Attributes:

• Supervisory or leadership experience in transport or logistics.
• Knowledge of transport compliance.
• Customer service skills.
• IT literacy.
• Manual Handling experience.
• IOSH certification (beneficial but not required).
• Transport Manager CPC (beneficial but not required).
