Keweenaw Chevrolet GMC is seeking motivated and positive individuals for its automotive service team. The Automotive Service Technician/Mechanic must have professional character, good work ethic, and a team player attitude.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
- Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers if additional service is needed and provide estimates for repairs.
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications for Automotive Technician:
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Previous experience at an automotive dealership is preferred
- Strong understanding of the service drive
- Varied years of experience depending on the position
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Dexterity, steady hand, and excellent hand-eye coordination
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic computer skills
- Positive, friendly attitude with a customer service mentality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with effective collaboration skills
- Ability to learn new technology, repair, and service procedures
- Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
