We're Severn Trent and we think water... and people are wonderful!
24 hours a day, 365 (sometimes 366) days a year we serve 8 million people across the heart of the UK. Each cuppa drank, and toilet flushed is only possible because of the 6,500 brilliant people working across our patch.
This role is vital to the service we deliver to those 8 million customers, and we think you'd love it.
We are looking for a Credit & Risk Manager to join our Commercial performance function, reporting into the Debt, Data and Strategy Lead, with responsibility for managing the credit strategy of Severn Trent in Shrewsbury. The role will focus on identifying, analysing, and mitigating credit risks associated within the water sector and requires in-depth knowledge of the utility market, credit risk frameworks, and the regulatory environment.
The Credit & Risk Manager will also be responsible for the technical delivery of our strategy plan, including robust forecasting and adherence to the plan, ensuring that financial, planning, and forecasting best practices are followed to meet our commitments.
This role is a critical part of the management team and will be relied upon to present material risks to senior stakeholders to ensure appropriate management and escalation of responses.
We seek someone who can act on strategic direction, manage staff, and foster a motivated team culture, understanding the dynamics that influence value, cost, and customer satisfaction.
You will be expected to deliver and monitor the effectiveness of credit strategies to ensure performance in water collection charges, cash collection, and unbilled properties brought into charge. This includes delivering our social tariff strategy effectively and collaborating with operations to ensure delivery. You should maintain knowledge of regulatory, financial control responsibilities, legislation, and market innovations to maximize debt collection.
Delivery against all Key Performance Indicators is crucial, especially focusing on customer experience and operational efficiency within budget.
We value the right character, positivity, and a caring attitude as much as skills and experience. We celebrate diversity and encourage individuals who want to make a difference and be part of something bigger.
Working here is more than a job; it’s a career. We offer competitive salaries, benefits, and award-winning training to help you reach your potential while contributing to environmental and community well-being.
We look forward to hearing from you. For more, search #LifeAtSevernTrent on social media. We will notify you of application outcomes after the closing date.
