Our Business Development Manager (BDM) roles focus on building and maintaining client relationships, originating opportunities, and securing profitable work. BDMs utilize best sales practices through the wider Business Development community and various CRM tools and guidance.

This role specifically targets our Infrastructure, Government and Health (IGH) sector, with a focus on Education, Skills, and Productivity, particularly Higher Education.

The ESP team is part of KPMG’s Public Sector practice, covering all education aspects from schools to higher education and government, aiming to grow advisory revenue in this sector.

We seek a senior manager to focus on Higher Education, leveraging our longstanding sector relationships and expanding our market presence.

Role and responsibilities

You will join the ESP leadership team, led by the Head of Education, Skills and Productivity, supporting regional and national growth strategies, and aligning them with local client issues and policies.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Leading our Go To Market strategy in Higher Education and developing the pipeline.
  2. Collaborating with Client Partners to expand contacts and opportunities at target universities.
  3. Launching new advisory products and developing sales pipelines.
  4. Enhancing our profile through conferences, speaking engagements, and relationships with influencers.
  5. Managing CRM and pipeline processes effectively.
  6. Supporting regional client service and strategic account planning.
  7. Leading qualification and pursuit of opportunities, including proposals.
  8. Mentoring and coaching sales best practices across teams.

The candidate must have strong leadership, management, influencing skills, and meticulous attention to detail. Performance metrics include revenue growth, brand enhancement, and client feedback.

Client relationships

Responsibilities include managing a diverse portfolio, engaging in sales activities, developing new client relationships, and expanding points of contact.
