What You Will Do

As the Sector Controller for Trimble Geospatial, you will be a pivotal strategic finance leader, directly partnering with the Franchise Controller and the Geospatial leadership team. This influential role demands a blend of acute financial and business acumen, empowering you to drive economic, financial, and strategic objectives. You will be the guardian of financial integrity, providing critical counsel on major business decisions, and safeguarding the sector's assets and profitability through robust controls and processes.

Your Impact & Key Responsibilities:

In this influential role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Drive forecast quality and predictability, lead monthly and quarterly reviews, and apply qualitative judgment to quantitative analysis.
  • Compliance & Controls: Ensure financial statement integrity through rigorous controls and compliance with US GAAP and SEC standards.
  • Strategic Business Partnering: Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, optimize financial models, assess macro-economic impacts, and guide strategic decisions.
  • Process Improvement: Enhance processes such as revenue recognition, pricing, and scalability for greater profitability and agility.
  • Leadership & Development: Lead and inspire teams, fostering talent development aligned with Trimble's values: Inspire, Engage, Achieve.
  • Global Operations Management: Oversee international transactions, intercompany accounting, and tax compliance.
  • Financial Integrity & Reporting: Manage monthly close, ensure accurate journal entries, and compliance with SEC and SOX.
  • Forecasting & Budgeting: Develop quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and sales targets with management collaboration.
  • Subscription Revenue Management: Lead analytics on subscription revenue, focusing on ARR metrics like renewals, retention, and revenue forecasting.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Business Operations and Digital Transformation teams to embed best practices.
What Skills You Should Bring

We seek a strategic, leadership-oriented finance professional with:

  • Extensive experience in global finance functions within technology solutions companies.
  • Deep knowledge of software and services revenue recognition.
  • Proven experience in business planning and forecasting for complex international operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with team management experience.
  • Expertise in ERP systems like Oracle, RevPro, Domo.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
  • High attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related; MBA preferred.
  • CPA certification is advantageous.
  • At least 7 years of progressive FP&A and accounting experience in public companies.
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience.
