Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking an experienced Early Years Team Leader for the Early Learning Unit in Hamilton. The role is temporary up to 1 year, 37 hours per week, salary £20.66–£21.25 per hour, and full-time pattern with 8am–6pm shifts.

You will lead and motivate staff, deliver a high-quality child-centred provision, and ensure staff meet SVQ/NNEB/HNC registration requirements. PVG checks and safeguarding are part of the selection criteria.

Qualifications

• Experience leading an early years team and delivering high-quality, child-centred provision.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and partnership working.
• Registration requirements for practitioner with SSSC and PVG scheme where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate staff to nurture children and create stimulating learning opportunities.
• Develop and lead the service in collaboration with colleagues to maintain a high standard of care.
• Support, mentor and supervise team members to ensure effective early years practice.
