Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant to support Nursery and Reception pupils in Newark-on-Trent (NG24). This full-time post runs 8:30am–3:30pm, initially until Christmas with a possible extension, within a school environment attached to academy trusts.

The ideal candidate will have a Level 2/3 TA qualification or strong Early Years experience, a full enhanced DBS, and excellent verbal and written communication to build rapport with pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• Ideally L2/L3 TA qualification or strong Early Years experience.
• Experience as TA in a British curriculum school for at least two terms.
• Full enhanced DBS certificate.
• Ability to complete onboarding process.
• Strong communication and rapport with pupils and staff.
• Minimum two school-based references.

Responsibilities

• Support Nursery and Reception in 1:1 and group settings.
• Assist learning activities and classroom routines.
• Promote safeguarding and positive behavior.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff.

Person Specification

• Ideally A L2/L3 Teaching Assistant qualification and/or exceptional relatable experience of working as a Teaching Assistant. Candidates without this will still be considered provided they have good experience with Early Years.
• Experience of working as a teaching Assistantin a British curriculum school for a minimum of two terms.
• Full enhanced DBS certificate.
• Completion of the Connex Education Onboarding Process.
• The ability to show a genuine desire and passion for working as a teaching assistant.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong rapport building skills, with pupils and with co-workers.
• A minimum of 2 school based references
