Job summary

Grandir UK Limited's Kiddi Caru Day Nursery in Torquay is seeking an Early Years Teacher with QTS or a Room Based Third in Charge to join our caring team. You will nurture and inspire children, support their development, and contribute to a safe, stimulating environment.

The role offers a market salary of £26,666 to £29,120, regular pay reviews, 33 days leave, a £1,000 welcome bonus, flexible working, pension, life assurance and other employee benefits in a welcoming Great Place to Work culture.

Qualifications

• QTS or Room Based Third in Charge eligibility.
• Ability to care for and inspire children in a nursery setting.
• Experience in early years education and development support.

Responsibilities

• Influence and shape nursery practices and share in a collective responsibility for their implementation.
• Encourage staff to make suggestions on nursery practices and improvements.
• Support assessment, recording and reporting on children’s progress.
• Coordinate and implement programmes and interventions on a day-to-day basis.
• Encourage high expectations of all children and help them reach their potential.
• Ensure staff demonstrate positive values and behaviour expected from children.

About Our Nursery

Our Kiddi Caru Nursery in Torquay is one of the largest purpose-built settings in Torquay, offering a safe, nurturing, and comfortable environment where children can thrive. Our experienced, long-standing team has carefully designed every aspect of the nursery to ensure each child is supported in a way that is unique to them. We are also proud to hold an Eco-Schools accreditation with merit, reflecting our commitment to teaching children about caring for the environment.

Outdoors, our private garden spaces include a much-loved yurt, regularly used for activities such as yoga and Boogie Mites sessions, creating unique and enriching experiences.

Location

Located on the Willows Retail Park in Torquay, near Sainsbury’s and just five minutes from the A380, our nursery is easily accessible by both public and private transport. With on-site parking available and bus stops just a short walk away, we are conveniently situated for families travelling from Torquay and the surrounding areas.

What Will You Be Doing

• Influence and shape the practices in the nursery and share in a collective responsibility for their implementation
• Be open to opportunities for improvement and encourage staff to make suggestions on nursery practices
• Support the process of effective assessment, recording and reporting on progress in children’s development and learning
• Play an active role in identifying and finding ways of meeting the professional development needs of nursery practitioners
• Co-ordinate and implement agreed programmes and interventions on a day-to-day basis
• Encourage other practitioners to have high expectations of all children and demonstrate commitment to helping them achieve their full potential
• Ensure all staff demonstrate the positive values, attitudes and behaviour which are expected from the children
